The ScandiFlames Bioethanol Burner 990 is a powder-coated black steel burner designed for indoor use in a wide range of DIY fireplace projects. Whether you're building a custom fireplace into a wall, a piece of furniture, or another bespoke installation, this burner gives you real, living flames without the need for a chimney.

One of the standout features of this burner is its larger than usual lip around the top edge. This lets the burner fill out a bigger cutout than similar bioethanol burners, making it a flexible choice when working with existing openings or custom-built surrounds. The top plate measures 990 x 280 mm.

The top plate also has 4 predrilled, threaded holes for mounting the included safety glass on one or both sides of the flame, depending on the fireplace project you're building. Mounting the glass is optional, but if fitted it helps shield the flame from drafts and small bursts of wind.

A Wide, Adjustable Flame

With a flame width of 82 cm, the burner creates an impressive, wide flame that becomes a real focal point in the room. The flame is fully adjustable, so you can turn it down for a smaller, longer-lasting burn, or open it up for a fuller, more dramatic flame.

At full flame level, fuel consumption is approximately 0.8 litres per hour. With a 5 litre fuel capacity, this gives a burn time of around 6-7 hours on a full refill. Turning the flame down reduces fuel consumption and extends the burn time further.

Compact Height, Powerful Heat Output

Despite its low profile of just 80 mm in height, the burner delivers a heat output of 6.5 kW, making it suitable for larger rooms. We recommend a minimum room size of 90 m3.

A lid is included with the burner, so it can be covered when not in use, keeping the burner clean and protected.
